Frequently asked questions

What people ask us

What is Mi Basket?

A free app for following Uruguayan basketball: live games, results, standings and player stats. You pick the teams and players you care about and they stay on the home screen, so you never have to look them up again.

Which leagues can I follow?

The Liga Uruguaya, the Liga de Ascenso, the Liga Femenina, the Tercera de Ascenso (DTA) and the youth divisions of the Uruguayan Basketball Federation (FUBB), from U11 up to U23; the regional leagues of Salto, Paysandú, Maldonado, Soriano and San José; the LBM (Liga de Basketball de Montevideo) with its eight divisions, +35 and +40; and Uruguay's national teams, from the senior side to the youth squads. Follow anyone from any of them and have them together on your home screen.

Can I follow the LBM and its +35 division?

Yes. The whole LBM is there: its eight divisions, from Primera to Octava, plus +35 and +40, with fixtures, results, standings and per-player stats with rebounds, assists and blocks. Its history starts in 2016. You follow an LBM team just like a FUBB one.

Can I follow the Uruguayan national team?

Yes. All fourteen Uruguayan national teams are there, from the senior side to the youth squads, men's and women's, with their games since 2000: the full box score, per-player stats and, for recent games, play-by-play and the shot chart. The data comes from FIBA.

Can I watch the plays on video?

Yes, in the games that were filmed. Every basket is marked in the video to the second, and you watch them one by one in a feed of plays, with filters by shot type and by camera. No need to hunt for them in the full broadcast.

Where can I download Mi Basket?

Free on both stores: on the App Store if you have an iPhone, and on Google Play if you have Android. On a computer there is nothing to download: it runs in the browser.

Can I use it on a computer?

Yes, at web.mibasket.app, from any browser. You sign in with your Google or Apple account, and what you follow comes with you on any computer where you sign in with that same account.

Is this the official FUBB app?

No. Mi Basket is an independent, non-profit family project, and it is not affiliated with or officially endorsed by any federation, league or club. The sports data is published openly by the FUBB, the LBM and FIBA.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is free, it carries no advertising of any kind and there are no in-app purchases. On your phone you do not need an account either: we never ask for a name, an email address or a password. You open it and you use it. On a computer you sign in with your Google or Apple account, so what you follow comes with you.

Where do the results come from?

From the information published openly by the FUBB (the Liga Uruguaya, the Liga de Ascenso, the Liga Femenina, the Tercera de Ascenso (DTA) and the youth divisions, from U11 up to U23, in men's, women's and mixed categories), the LBM (its eight divisions since 2016, plus +35 and +40) and FIBA (the games of Uruguay's national teams). Live games update on their own while they are being played, with nothing for you to do.

Does it cover the youth divisions?

Yes, in the same detail as the top league: fixtures, standings and per-player stats. You search for your kid or their team by name, tap follow, and from then on they sit at the top of your home screen. If you would rather their data did not appear, we take it down: write to us and it is done (Privacy).

Can I follow several players at once?

Yes, as many as you like, even if they play in different divisions or for different clubs. You see them all together on the home screen.

Does it use a lot of mobile data?

Very little: following games from the home screen uses around 2.6 MB per hour, less than a single photo taken with your phone.

Simple enough for grandparents.
Complete enough for coaches.
Basketball, for everyone.

They play this weekend. Pick your people and follow them however you like.

For federations and leagues

Built for Uruguay. Ready for yours.

Mi Basket follows Uruguayan basketball today because that's the basketball our family follows. But everything you see here (live scores, favorites, notifications, stats) was designed from day one to work with any federation's data, not just Uruguay's.

The app is currently in Spanish, which is why the screenshots above are in Spanish. If you work with a federation, a league or a club and would like something like this for your community, write to [email protected].
